Most diamond painting suppliers will tell you the same three things: low price, fast shipping, good quality.
That tells you nothing.
Here is what actually decides whether this SKU makes you money or eats your margin in returns.
1. Adhesive failure is your biggest hidden cost
A kit that will not hold drills is not a cheap kit. It is a refund waiting to happen.
Test three things before a bulk order:
Does the release film peel cleanly, without tearing the adhesive?
Is the adhesive evenly coated across the full canvas?
Do drills stay put after 24 hours and light handling?
If any answer is no, walk away. The unit price is irrelevant.
2. Drill consistency drives reviews
Customers do not review “resin drills.” They review “missing pieces” and “cloudy colors.”
Check for:
Uniform drill size
Clean cuts, no burrs
Dark colors that are not cloudy
Correct counts per bag, with a small buffer
A 2% shortfall on a 20-color design is a support ticket. A 2% buffer is cheap insurance.
3. Color coding is a support cost
Bad sorting creates confusion, then complaints, then returns. Multi-color and large-format designs are where this breaks first.
Sample the busiest color count, not the prettiest design.
4. SKU strategy: do not lead with the biggest canvas
Large canvases look impressive in a catalog and intimidate first-time buyers. Lead with a mid-size, low-color-count design. Use large formats as upsell, not entry.
5. Supplier questions worth asking
What is your drill shortfall policy?
Can you provide a sealing glue option?
What is your defect rate on adhesive film?
Can you ship mixed SKUs in one carton?
Vague answers are answers.

Buy samples like a skeptic. Test adhesive, drills, sorting, and packaging. Then scale the SKUs that survive.
